Title: Weekly Report 4 (Implementation Process Starts)

Date: April 19, 2024

Summary:

Starting from the weekend of week 3, I finished up all of the page design using the Figma tool, this pages include the homepage, menu template page, editing page, and print page. Then,  I started my implementation process as soon as I finished all my research for the software use, references, visualization, and templates. I started working on the editing page first because all the sources and packages needed would reflect back to the editing page. With the help of FabricJS, I’m able to get existing and open-source canvas, figures, and other visualizations to work on the editing page. Fast forward to the implementation process, I got errors and issues with displaying the results which has something to do with directory false and ElectronJS which basically converts the website version to a desktop application on Windows and MacOS, this took most of my expected time for this first phase of implementation. However, now, I was able to run the program through the website version and work further from there. Overall, great progress and I’m looking forward to further development next week.

Title: Weekly Report 5

Date: April 26 2024

Summary:

This week, while waiting for the feedback from the instructor and librarian on Wednesday through Friday, I continued working on my implementation process for the project, where this week I focused on working on the GUI/containers within every page. Since the editing page demo is in a completely different project and isn’t fully working yet, I started to figure out how to move the editing page to the off-style project without receiving any errors or version issues. The implementation process for this week continues through this week’s weekend to configure issues and finalize all of the components within every container on each page. After finishing up the instructor and librarian meet-up, I captured all of the new changes, bullet points, and ideas for revising the requirements and specifications, so  I took my time on Thursday evening to work on this. Then, I worked on revising my contract, since the implementation process is working based on the changes from the revised version of the requirements and specification document, I think it is time to start revising the contract; however, I still need to wait until next week for the final decision whether I can tell if I can catch up with the goals by the end of week 10, but for now, I change things what I can.

Title: Weekly Report 6

Date: May 3, 2024

Summary:

This week, not many new things have been done, most of the new actions and activities are mostly progress. I took some of my time to prepare and sort my progress things out and be ready for more or less 5 minutes total of a presentation. As for my implementation process, I’ve been focusing on the issue of caching saving data to be transported into a file for users to save them in the computer. Although the demo editing page is fully functional now for editing the background and uploading images to the center of the t-shirt, then, it allows users to save the result with a PNG file. This week’s progress has been really slow due to being stuck on a couple of issues and bugs within the implementation process, however, I’m still working on that through this weekend. Apart from this, I also focus on preparing for my instructor meet-up next week from creating an appointment to what to present to the instructor during the meeting. Last weekend, I spoke with the librarian about further research sources and answered a couple of questions regarding the methodology of saving the resource, they also helped me work on my research and consultation document for this project.

Title: Weekly Report 7

Date: May 10, 2024

Summary:

This week, was probably the slowest week I had so far due to resolving the previous and new issues within the implementation process. It took most of my work on the project days of the week, to configure, understand, and research the issues. Now, I’m able to configure about 80 percent of the issue. I’m planning to meet my expert once more next week for guidance on this matter, as I tried to contact my expert last Thursday. Now, the main issue is copying the cache for the user’s progress and saving it to a file like Notepad; the major issue in this process is retrieving the data from Notepad to the program. Other major issues, such as creating the image clickable and redirecting to a different page; although it sounds straightforward, it is really difficult to match the scenario and resolve the issue on React TypeScript. Aside from the implementation process, I started to research how to make a website profile, where I think it would be good to store my resume, academic achievements, and projects. Earlier this week, I sent an email to Dr. Gregory for a meet-up assignment matter, but Dr. Gregory hasn’t responded to my email until today, I even emailed a follow-up email to make sure Dr. Gregory could receive the request, but still, no news from Dr. Gregory. I planned to contact Dr. Kim to make an appointment for the instructor’s meet-up matter.

Title: Weekly Report 8

Date: May 17, 2024

Summary:

This week, I scheduled a meeting with Dr. Kim for a third instructor meet-up. I created a conversation prompt particularly for this meeting that addresses three topics: progress, questions and concerns, and future matters (education and career). I demonstrated my progress, including visualization, documentation, reports, and implementation. Dr. Kim appreciated the explanation that had been made. Dr. Kim then inquired about the project's genuine aim and outcomes, to which I quickly outlined the project's origins, where the concept originated from, and the potential influence of the outcome on myself and the targeted users. Overall, Dr. Kim addressed all of my questions and concerns, as well as made ideas to help me advance and complete the assignment appropriately and on schedule. As for the implementation process, I finished all of the classes and functions that needed to be addressed and implemented throughout the homepage and editing page. However, as for the print page, I still trying to figure out how can I manage to parse the data in the editing page to the templated pdf paper/file. Overall, I genuinely think that I could finish the program by next week. As I have time on the side of the implementation process, I start working on the website portfolio, as my experience, resume, and projects, including OFF-STYLE, will be placed in one place (portfolio).

Title: Weekly Report 9

Date: May 24, 2024

Summary:

This week, I mostly work on my professional profile website and the poster and be ready to display next week. As for the final presentation, poster, and website, I figured out all of the resources and inspiration I needed to complete all those tasks on time and accordingly. I also attended 2 classes this week to discuss the presentation and the colloquium overview. As for the final report, I took most of my Friday time working on it, it is truly more information and time required than I expected, so I decided not to do anything else besides what’s due that day. As for the implementation process, I think everything is going well, this week has been configuring all of the issues and bugs, and I have time to work with my expert towards it, indeed, he helped me a bunch and saved me so much time from configuring the issues and the resolution within the program codes. Overall, a very heavy amount of time has taken and used this week, and I’m looking forward to what’s next.
